Last week things got a little busy, so this week I'm sharing highlights of the past two weeks!

{ONE}

Russ and I went to a Halloween party with friends the Saturday after Halloween. We pulled out our plaid and went as lumberjacks!

I feel like it's been forever since I did a round up of what I've been wearing. The seasons have definitely transitioned!  Goodbye are the days of short sleeves and sandals! Hello sweaters and ankle boots!

This post contains some gifted items and commissioned links.

You probably see I share a lot of Shein items. They are one of the companies I work with on a regular basis. People ask me about it since their clothes are so affordable. I enjoy what I get from them. I just always read the reviews and measurements carefully before I chose items so I can make sure it will work for me. You can use code Q4BYBMGBLOG to get 15% off their entire site.

This top was gifted to me by Alex and Abby. Opinions are all my own.

I love items that can be versatile! When I was browsing Alex and Abby's website, I was intrigued by this Essence Long Sleeved Wrap! Check out the different ways you can wear it!

You can wear it as a wrap which works for a layering piece or just as its own top!

Snap it to have a tunic or cover up!

Wear it open for a cardigan look!

How does it work? Snaps! It was snaps in different places to attach it and make different looks! I am just showing you three ways you can wear it, but there are more. Check out the style card for all the possibilities!

And changing it up is so easy! This top comes in four different colors and  would be great for so many different occasions from athleisure to casual to dressy!

 Which way is your favorite!

You can use my code BGoerendNov19 for a discount on Alex and Abby's' entire site!

I shared this organization tip on my Instagram story and I got so much positive feedback about it! I have a shoe organizer on the inside of our coat closet door and in it, I put all our winter hats, gloves and scarves! It's so handy! I have a row for each of us plus an extra row of randoms on the bottom. I snagged this one from Amazon and it has worked well!

Hey all! I'm coming at ya a day late because of conferences this week AND our link up code isn't working, so there is no link up this week. Nonetheless, I had to share some fun we had this week!

We got to check out the new Urban Air last Friday. It was such a blast. We were there for almost 3 hours!  Lots of jumping and climbing!

I'm over at Des Moines Moms Blog sharing in their Stork Series about Wesley's birth. It's one that definitely didn't go as we expected! Check it out here.

You guys, I am like on fumes this week! So much to catch up on and so much I want to do, but there aren't enough hours in my days! So I can't tell you about my whole week because all my photos won't upload, but I can tell you that I had an amazing time in Tulsa last weekend!

I went to the SeneGence Leaders Conference for my business! And I wore my amazing jacket c/o Fusion Boutique! Use code BYBMG for a discount through the end of October!

While there I learned how to break a board with my hand. Like HI-YA ninja style! It was so cool! Also I worked on breaking through some mental barriers!

Clothing trends come and go, and I love that there are places you can buy cute, trendy items for a really affordable price! Shein has been a go-to online shop of mine for a while now, and today I have a couple favorite trendy pieces I wanted to show you!

This post contains gifted items.

Peplum tops have been in for a while now, but I know not everyone thinks they can pull it off! Well I'm tell you that you can, but if you're unsure, snag one from Shein! I got this blue floral top and I just love the color. It also has cute tie sleeve details and it's just $12!

Last week was homecoming week at our school and my building had a tailgate. The boys had a blast. I mean what's not to like about free cotton candy and inflateables?!

Last Friday night I got to spend a night out on a farm! It sounds totally Iowa, but it was so cool to learn about agriculture in our state! We got to see how they work with their beef cattle and see their fields and crops! It was super cool!
This post is in collaboration with Alex + Abby. All opinions are my own.

So a month or so ago, a friend texted me asking if I would run a 5k with her in October. If you know me, you know I am NOT a running. Some people can go out and run a 5k without thinking about it. I could barely run two minutes straight without a struggle. Many years ago I tried out the Couch to 5K running plan and failed miserably, but this time I figured I could give it a try again. I have an accountability partner. I have an end goal. And I really wanted to do it.

When I run, I HAVE to wear leggings. I like the compression feeling and support on my legs and I love that there's no bunching between my legs. These are the Advantage Capri Leggings from Alex + Abby. and I love the thickness of the fabric, the quality of the seams, and that they have a zipped pocket on the back waist to hold things you don't want to fall out while you run like keys or a card. I got plain black, but they also come in some fun options with contrast stitching and different colors.

Russ and I had a short little date on Saturday night! We went to a ceviche bar and snagged some ice cream sandwiches after. We also found a fun purple wall to snap an outfit photo at!

Have you tried faux leather leggings? I'm styling them casually for you today!

Today I'm sharing two ways to style this versatile peplum striped top!

Our neighbor a couple houses down have two sons who are out of college. This past weekend one of the sons brought over three huge boxes of old toys for our boys to have. It felt like it was the scene from the end of Toy Story 3! Calvin is obsessed with Transformers lately, and they gave us a ton of those!

The boys went camping Friday night. I went to the site, helped set up, stayed for a hot dog, then went home to our house! They had a blast and I got a little camping taste and some rest! A win-win in my  book!

Summer got busy with all our travels, so I missed out posting my July Amazon Finds, so today I'm sharing both July and August's purchases!

Last Friday was the first day of school. The boys were excited to start off the year and everyone's transition this week has been going pretty well! Cal has had some rough drop offs, but I really don't blame him for missing us!

This week has been pretty quiet but also busy because we had teacher work days and today is the first day of school! Today I'm sharing one of my back to school outfits and next week I will have first day pictures to share!

Top: c/o Shein
Necklace: Kendra Scott (similar)
Pants: c/o Shein
Shoes: American Eagle (similar)

Back to school shopping can be fun. It can also be stressful. I do a lot of shopping for myself and our boys online! As you all know, I love Shein, and they're having a Back to School Sale! I love how affordable their pieces are, and it was so fun picking out some new pretty things to feel special for back to school. Use code BTS62 for 15% off any purchase through September 30.

I'm a sucker for scallop details and the color blush, so when I saw this top, I knew it was perfect! The neckline is a pretty scallop detail and the sleeves have a pretty ruffle. I have shared fun paperbag gathered topped pants before, and so when I saw these olive ones, I knew they would be great with this top as well as other fall looks.

I hope you had a great week!

I spent the weekend away with some friends! I really didn't take many pictures, so I don't have much to share, but it was really fun!

Unfortunately, we had a former student's parent pass away, so we went up to northeast Iowa to the funeral. The boys hung out with some family friends of ours and got to have some fun in the country! Ann, the hostess, even made a cute welcome board for our family visit!

You can't have too much leopard. That's a motto of mine, and this dress was a perfect add to my closet. Do I have a couple leopard dresses? Maybe... but not like this one!

I love a good casual outfit with a couple touches that make it all feel pulled together! Today I'm sharing a fun new top courtesy of Shein and how I styled it in a casual way.

Well HEY! I've been a little MIA because we have been traveling almost non-stop the past month!  But I'm back! If you've been following along on Instagram, you're somewhat in the know, but if you haven't, here's what we've been up to!

We went to Oregon for Russ's mom's side's family reunion! We got to see a lot of people we hadn't seen in year!

While in Oregon, we got to go to the beach so the boys could dip their toes in the Pacific! We went to the Atlantic last summer in Connecticut, the Gulf earlier this summer, and then the Pacific! I think our boys are pretty well-traveled!

Every woman needs a little black dress that makes them feel fantastic. A little black dress (LBD) can be worn year-round and today I wanted to show you how to wear it for summer!

Today I'm putting together an easy outfit that looks... well... put together! Use some classic pieces and add a pop of color, and you're set!

It's time again to round up my Amazon purchases from this past month! This month includes some travel items, some fun, and a couple clothing items, too!

We did a bit of traveling since I've updated you last! We went St. Louis, Gulf Shores, St. Louis, Philly!

{St. Louis}

We hit up St. Louis on both ends of our trip before we went to Gulf Shores. Russ's aunt lives there and she took us to the City Museum! It's an amazing place

After Gulf Shores, we came back through and I met up my friend Krista, who I'd met through Instagram. This was our first time meeting and it was so wonderful!
