Life is catching up with me a little.  I usually do outfit shots Saturdays during nap time, but I had grad school class last weekend. So outfit layouts, not outfit photos, were what I had time for this week. This may be how it goes for weekends I have class. We shall see!

I'm loving that fall weather is upon us here in Iowa. Hello tall boots!

I thought it would be fun to do a little throwback to Henry's first birthday since it happened before I blogged in this space. When we were picking out names, Henry was the boy name that just stuck.  It's classic. We love it, and hey, it even has a candy bar to go along with it!

Russ's Aunt Karen had given us an Oh Henry wall hanging after he was born. I adore it and it still hangs in his room. I lucked out and found birthday hats that were red and yellow!
It's the last Monday of the month, which means I'm linking up with Andrea about my Favorite Things!  Each month, there's a new topic (all the topics can be found here). This month we're sharing about our favorite scarf!

Sometimes I just luck out shopping. Finding this scarf at Target last fall was one of those times. It was on sale nonetheless!  I have a huge collection of scarves, but if I had to keep just a handful from all that I have, this would be one of the first I would pull. I love jewel tones. I wear them all. the. time. This scarf just goes!  I haven't worn it yet this fall, but I know it will be in the rotation soon.

Here are a few ways I've worn it!

With my favorite dress.
We meet again, Friday! Today you don't seem as sweet since I'm going to be in grad class all weekend, but Sunday will be cherished! This week has been a little crazy but good!

Sweet Calvin had his 4 month check (at 4 1/2 months) and he's growing well! Over 17 lbs! His shots were a little rough on him, so I stayed home with him the following day. More baby snuggles? I'm not complaining.

So, we pre-ordered the new iPhone 6S and I should have it any day! My contract has been up for a while, but I wanted to wait until the 6S came out to get a new phone. One of the fun things about getting a new phone is shopping for a new case!  I currently have a Mophie case on my phone. It's not cute, but the extra battery life is appreciated.  This time around I might go for a normal case and see if I end up needing extra battery.

I received the product free in exchange for my review. The opinions are all my own! See my disclosure statement.

Fall weather is inching its way in here. A few leaves on our trees are starting to change, and I'm loving it!

Lots of life updates and highlights this week! Happy Friday to you!

First, congrats to Jen K for winning the Re-Play dishes!

Last Saturday we got up bright and early and headed out the door! It was basically the most perfect Saturday (except for what happened to our kitchen, but that's for #2). We hit up Dunkin' and got groceries! The boys were just having a blast. It was the morning Saturdays should be made of!

I have decided to cancel my Ipsy subscription. While I enjoyed it, the samples were piling up, and I just didn't enjoy it as much as I had in the past, and reviewing it was becoming a chore. So, I decided to redirect the $10/month funds to something new!  I'm starting a new monthly series called $10 at Target. Each month I'll head to the land of the happy place with the red and khaki with a $10 budget and report back to you what I buy. I hope to have themes from month to month.

Well, I documented SOME of my outfits from the week. I struggle because I haven't been able to plan ahead as much as I would like which means I don't have the chance to get pics of what I wear in good lighting... ahh the struggles!

Wednesday:

Necklace: Our World Boutique
Top: Old Navy
Skirt: LuLaRoe
Sandals: Sperry (similar)

Sometimes it's fun to look back over my outfit archives and see different ways I've worn a piece. Today I'm sharing 4 ways I've worn my Old Navy navy blue puffer vest. I got this vest last fall, and I know it will get a workout this year along with a few other vests. I love this certain vest because it is cozy and a solid color, so it's very versatile.

With a sweatshirt.

This green Hello Apparel sweatshirt is one of my faves. Adding the vest added some warmth and a little interest to the outfit.

Calvin turned the big 4 months this past Friday. He's so fun. He has been rolling both ways, so we slowly transitioned him out of the swaddle. He's doing great. He still gets up once (or twice) a night, but he's so darn cute I can't be too upset.

And I got this picture of all three boys the same day. Henry has a goofy grin, but it's fun to see them all together!

The title totally enticed you, didn't it? So, the random fact is... I hate it when my food touches! Divided plates are my best friend! My mom buys special divided paper plates at family gatherings with me in mind. I have "adult" white Corelle divided plates for me in our home.

So... what does this have to do with anything? Well, fortunately or unfortunately, I have passed this dislike of food touching off to my children.

We had a few divided plates plastic around the house, because they're easy to find for kids, but they were all mismatched. A few had plastic peeling on them (yeah, that's really healthy). They never stacked well.  It drove me crazy because our cupboard was a hot mess of mismatched plates.

I was so intrigued when I saw my friend, Elizabeth, share about Re-Play dishes. They are so bright and cheerful looking, that I just had to try them out for myself!

It's Friday once again, and I am so glad! Who is excited for the long weekend?!  Here are some highlights from this past week!

You're totally an adult if you get excited about a new microwave, right?!  Our current microwave is a counter-top model, and we're realizing we really lack counter space. So, we ventured to Best Buy and looked at getting one to mount above the stove. We decided upon this one. It is also a convection oven. It was a little pricey, but we have some money saved for home updates/repairs. We plan to stay in our current home for the long haul, so having an extra oven space will be very helpful as we host gatherings! We plan to pick it up and install it this weekend!

Chambray is totally back and has been for a while. I have shopped around for "the perfect chambray" for a while, and I finally have two that I really love. This one is one of them. I found it on Thred Up, though it's actually from Target!
