Today I'm over at Des Moines Mom sharing some recent purchases that are saving my sanity! Check it out here!

It's been a few weeks since I have been over here, but I wanted to pop on and say hello. Honestly with being home with the boys, it's been hard to find a solid routine. I forget what day of the week it is. My emotional state goes up and down. I am sure many of you can relate. Scrolling back through pictures of the last month, we have done a lot of things!

Russ and Henry stained our front porch and back deck. It's amazing how Henry has really stepped up some responsibility. I mean, money may be a tiny bit of a motivator, but he also learned how to mow the lawn!

Because the deck was freshly stained, I took the chance to order a new door mat. I love how it looks.

Hi Friends! I hope you're doing well! I know not all of us have been getting dressed in anything besides lounge wear these days, but some days it's just nice to put on some other clothes! I wanted to share with you some cute tees I recently got from Shein. They're all so great for casual wear right now if you want to change up your routine a little. You can use the code T2ByBMGBlog to get an extra 15% off your orders at Shein!

Well, I can't say life has gotten busy, but it's been different. Some days I nail my to-do list and other days I can barely get off the couch. Last Friday I had all the intentions of blogging but just didn't, so this week you get highlights from the past two weeks.

{ONE}

Because we are a little crazy around here, one day Wesley and I went live in my Facebook Group and he did my make up. He got a little crazy at the end, but it was very fun!

{TWO}

Our boys' school did a teacher drive by parade and it was so sweet. The boys made signs and I definitely teared up a little bit.

{THREE}

We're still rocking the fire pit the boys made and one night we roasted hot dogs over it!

{FOUR}

We celebrated Wesley's birthday and I worked with Card My Yard, Des Moines for a fun surprise in our yard!

Russ's parents came over to drop off gifts (and stay at a distance). :)

I arranged to have our local fire department drove by to wish Wesley a happy day!

Wesley helped me decorate his cake!

And we zoom called with my family to sing Happy Birthday and blow out his candles.

{FIVE}

One of Russ's former students invited us out to check out their farm. They had horses and sheep and sheep dogs and it was nice to get out and away from our town for a little bit.

{SIX}

Easter Sunday the weather was cold and icky, but we enjoyed church from the couch in our jammies.

We also had an indoor egg hunt and got a little dressed up to eat take out for dinner.

This past week it has been pretty gloomy and cold. We have gone on some walks but spent a lot of time inside. As I type this, it's snowing, but next week is supposed to be nicer again so I can't wait to get outside more.

Lots of love to you all in these stressful times.

I'm over at Des Moines Moms sharing some outdoor activities! We all need a little something right now being stuck at home!

Week three and I barely know what day it is! Just kidding, kind of! This week has definitely had its ups and downs. Good moments and not so good ones. It's hard to not be able to go places but I know it is for a good reason. Today they just extended our school closure through April 30th.

Today I'm sharing a few of the good moments of our week.

Calvin helped me make some popsicles this week and the boys enjoyed them on the deck.
Happy Friday (that's what day of the week it is, right?)!

We're still just hanging out at home. This week we put a little bit of a routine in place and that's helped the days go well.

One of my friends dropped some things by to keep the boys occupied. So sweet!

Hi Friends! How are you doing? I pray you're staying healthy and sane in this crazy time. I have definitely been struggling with the uncertainty of it all, but I know coming out of this we will be changed people.

Today I am sharing a few items gifted to me from Shein to celebrate their spring sale! You can use code SHSP021 to take 15% off your purchase through April 25.

Necklace: Kendra Scott
Dress: c/o Shein
Shoes: Rothys

I have seen this leopard print pattern with the touches of blue before and just love it. I think this dress could be worn casually with sandals, for work with flats, or out on the town with heels!

Happy Friday (that's what day of the week it is, right?)!

It's so crazy how life can just CHANGE in a week. We are officially off of school through April 13 and are practicing social distancing. This week was our spring break already. We'd planned a trip but decided not to go. We have just been hanging at home and enjoying time together. Here's what we've been up to!

On St. Patrick's Day, we dressed in green and hit up the donut drive through! Drive throughs will be so helpful during this time as long as they stay open! They've closed all bars and restaurants in our state except for drive through, delivery and carry out.

Hey all! I hope you're all doing well. This is such a strange time in our world. Just to be transparent with you, I have some companies I have agreements with to share things, so I will still be sharing to meet that agreement. Likely right now you'll find me at home in some cozy lounge wear, but I'm excited to give you some outfit inspo if you're still working out of the home or for when you return to work after the quarantine. Many of you know I am a teacher, and right now our school district is closed until April 13.

One of the companies I work with is Shein, and I got these three pairs of pants free to review. You can shop Shein with my code T1BYBMGBLOG to get a 15% discount. This post also contains affiliate links meaning I make a small commission on some of your purchases at no added cost to you!

This outfit is one that just came together easily. I got these new shoes, and the pants have a pop of the color of the shoes in them! This is an outfit I could totally wear to work in spring or fall!
Happy Friday!

First off, I want to give you all a virtual hug! Life is crazy, and I know it can take a toll on our mental health. Make sure to take care of yourself.

I got around to sharing our Las Vegas trip. If you didn't catch the post, hop over here to read about the fun!

Hey all! I have been a little scattered between grad school, sick kids, and keeping up with other things in life, but I wanted to pop on and share some photos from our trip to Las Vegas! We headed out the evening of my birthday (Thursday, February 27) and came home Sunday afternoon. It was a fun long weekend and I didn't even get pictures of everything we did!

This is Russ and me waiting at the airport to fly out. We'd never done just a quick weekend trip flying somewhere, so we were feeling pretty excited!

The hotel we stayed at was called the Downtown Grand. It is right off Fremont Street in the older part of Las Vegas. We enjoy that it was small but nice and affordable. It was also a little bit away from the noise of Fremont, so it made sleeping easy.

Another month has passed, so that means it's time to share my recent Amazon purchases!

This week was a haze with sick kiddos, so we didn't do a whole lot! Yesterday was my birthday and today we're in Las Vegas celebrating, so I thought I would share a tutorial of one of my favorite eye looks with you!

Are you a jacket person? I have always been a cardigan person, but not necessarily a jacket person. But I am realizing jackets just take an outfit up a notch!

Jacket: c/o Shein
Top: Amazon
Jeans: thrifted Express (similar)
Shoes: thrifted (similar)
Clutch: old (similar)

We're heading to Las Vegas for a long weekend and I was looking up some ideas on Pinterest for what to wear with a sequin top. I found this one on Amazon and thought it was cute. One of the ideas was with a moto jacket and some nude pumps, so I tried to put together a similar look. I really like how it turned out and I think I will be wearing this as an outfit on our trip!

Necklace: Kendra Scott
Blazer: c/o Shein
Top: Target
Pants: Old Navy
Loafers: Walmart

Blush is a fun spin on a blazer, and when I was looking at pants to go with it, I pulled for these from Old Navy because they have some pink in the leopard print. Looking at this outfit later, it kind of has some Saved By The Bell 90s vibes to it, don't you think?

Earrings: Dawn Graham Designs use code BYBMG for 30% off
Jumpsuit: Old Navy (similar)
Shoes: Target (similar)

I'd seen some people posting about their love for the J. Crew Sweater Blazer, so when I found this one on sale, I snagged it thinking it would be fun. I really works with the greens in this jumpsuit and I got a ton of compliments when I wore this to school!

Necklace: Kendra Scott
Jacket: c/o Shein
Top: Target
Pants: H&M (similar)
Heels: Target (similar)
Clutch: Thirty-One (similar)

One of my favorite fashion tricks is putting together a faux jumpsuit look with a black top and bottoms. I thought this was perfect to wear with this fancy jacket I may end up taking to Vegas, too! I added these gold heels I got on sale at Target a few years ago and a gold glitter clutch and I think it all comes together!

Are you a jacket person? What's your favorite kind of jacket?

Last Friday was Valentine's Day! Our church youth group offered babysitting, so we took advantage of it and went out. We ended up at the mall food court because every place was crazy, but we still had fun. Russ and I actually met on Valentine's Day (read the story here), so it is a special day for us.

I was featured this week over on The Beachwaver's blog! Hop here if you want to read it!

Hey all! Today I wanted to show you some fun Valentine's inspired looks with tops gifted from Shein! All of these outfits are worn with the same pair of jeans to make it easy and just to show you how you can change it up a little bit.

This post contains affiliate links and gifted items but all opinions are my own.

Top: c/o Shein
Jeans: Democracy
Shoes: Gap (old and I can't find any comparable!)

I have seen the distressed sweater trend, and I thought I needed to give it a try. I love the different look and how this sweater could be casual with sneakers (like in this outfit) or dressed up!

Sweater: c/o Shein
Jeans: Democracy
Boots: Target

This outfit is a little between casual and dressy. On the model, this sweater was pulled down off the shoulder but that's not quite my style. I think this would be great for a date night or night out with friends.

Top: c/o Shein
Jeans: Democracy
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell (similar)

This is an outfit that is perfect for a date night. The top is romantic with the lace detail and I love it! I added a heeled boot and done!

You can use code SVD305 for a discount at Shein!

Do you go out with a significant other, stay in, or celebrate with friends on Valentine's Day?

I mentioned last week that it was Henry's birthday! He had some buddies over to hang out and a couple spent the night. He made out big with Roblox gift cards and he was thrilled!

Today is Henry's 10th birthday! I always put streamers on the boys' rooms the night before their birthdays, so it is something fun to wake up to. He opened some gifts this morning and he has some buddies coming over tonight!

I found a website that has clothes Wesley loves! It's called Primary and they have lots of gender neutral bright colored clothes for great prices!

I'm a little late to the game this month, but it is fun to share what we've been purchasing from Amazon. I love reading these types of posts and I hope you do too!

1. I picked up some of these hair clips to use as gifts for customers and they are so cute! I kept a the lips ones for myself!

2. I also got these foundation brushes for gifts for customers, too. They are very comparable with some that I have that cost a LOT more.

3. I saw this dress in a Facebook group and I fell in LOVE! I ordered it in a medium and large because I wasn't sure on size and ended up keeping the large. It is SO cute and affordable.

4. I have seen some students and friends wear these warm, cozy jackets, and I wanted one, but the name brand one some of them had was close to $100. I found this one on Amazon for under $30 and I LOVE it!

5. This pop bead jewelry kit was on sale for $15 one day, so I ordered it. I think it will be fun to pull out on a cold winter day!

6. Henry went to a birthday party, and Nerf guns are an easy gift to get for boys his age, so we got this one.

7. Calvin didn't have much on his Christmas list, but one thing he REALLY wanted was a magic wand! I found this one on that makes noise and he loved it.

8. One day Amazon had a sale on markers and pencils. I picked up these dry erase markers for school along with some Mr. Sketch Markers and mechanical pencils.

9. I ordered a PINK Christmas tree right after Christmas. Our current tree is pre-lit and has had some lights stop working. I have always dreamed of having a "pretty" tree, so this one will go upstairs next year and then we will move the current tree downstairs. I also bought some rainbow ornaments to decorate like this Pinterest idea!

I'm excited to link up regularly with this monthly link up, Prime Purchases! What fun things have you bought on Amazon lately?
