We had a great weekend last weekend. Russ had a wedding on Saturday, so he was gone all day. The boys and I hit up Costco and Target and spent the rest of the day at home. On Sunday we went to church and then out to brunch with Russ's parents. The place we went is called The Machine Shed and they have free tractor wagon rides. The boys loved it!

As summer is winding down, it was fun that I got a new pair of sunglasses courtesy of Sunski! This are the Portola style and I chose them because of their pink lenses and the fact that I don't have a pair of black sunglasses that I love. The cool thing about them is they're made from recycled plastic and the company donates some of its profiles to environmental non-profits! You can use code GOODVIBES to get 15% off a pair for yourself!

Do you ever find a piece you just MUST have? Today I'm styling this skirt because I just HAD to have it!

We hit up the Iowa State Fair last Friday. We went to the Little Hands on the Farm exhibit that we'd never been to before. The boys walked through an agriculture experience and got to do fun things like plant a fake seed and milk a fake cow. They loved it and got paid a fake dollar at the end to buy a treat in the farm store!

Once school is back in session, I am so ready for fall, though the weather doesn't usually agree with me. Today I'm sharing a little fall transition look!

For the past ten years, Russ and I have spent a weekend away with a few couples. It's nice to hang out without all our kids and just chat and go out to dinner together without cutting up someone's meal. In past years we've gone down to an area with a lake and had separate cabins. This year we rented a house with a nice pond and it was a blast!

I saw Whitney try out the Thred Up Goody Box, and I thought it would be fun to try.

Last Friday night, Russ and I had a night out with friends. We went downtown to a cute little place for drinks and food and then to an outdoor concert. We really don't take advantage of all the fun things Des Moines has to offer, so it was fun to get out!
We returned last week from five nights at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. This is our third year staying at this same resort. We visited it first to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and decided we need to take a trip just the two of us every year.

This is what I wore to dinner they first night. We got to the resort at about 3 pm. got checked in, dressed, and walked around the resort. The past two trips I've taken wedges, but since there is a bit of walking from place to place, this year I went with all flat sandals. I may change my mind next year because you do lose a bit of that dressy look with flats, but sometimes comfort trumps fashion.
