TGIF!  I hope you had a great week. I'm loving that it totally feels like fall here. Here are highlights from our week.

{ONE}

Thank you for all your kind words after I shared about my dad last week. His treatments have been going well and I hope to visit him this weekend. I purchased my first Alex and Ani bracelets this week. The lighthouse is in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association and the compass is my reminder that God knows are direction and His plans are good.

I wanted to share with you a project that has an amazing purpose. It's called Noah's Bandage Project. I heard about through some amazing blogger friends.  This past week has brought cancer even more to the forefront of my mind, and so this project hits home.

Maybe you have noticed, maybe you haven't, but I've kind of killed off the weekly post of what I've been wearing. I can't give a definite reason why. Sometimes there were scheduling conflicts. Sometimes I wondered if just seeing one glance at an outfit was enough, so I'm coming back today with a highlight reel of some of my fave outfits I've been wearing.  I post these almost daily on Instagram. The last time I did a WIWW was in July! Today's includes mostly clothes I've been wearing to school and a whole lot of LuLaRoe, A Pretty Pear earrings, and Blossom Bangles!

I actually forgot about this dress until I got it out for Mexico. I won it from a giveaway a few years ago and it's been unable to fit or unable to be worn because of babies.

Dress: Michael Kors
Sandals: Etsy
Necklace: old

When Cents of Style contacted me a few weeks ago with the news that they were going to have a "Life is..." line of shirts for this Fashion Friday, I picked this shirt because, you know, boy mom... But the past few days have been a whirlwind. My dad was diagnosed with Leukemia this week and it's definitely turned my world upside down. He will be undergoing treatment for the next month, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

They have different shirts with different messages available this week. Which one speaks to you? Use the code LIFEIS1 to get your tee for $15.95 plus free shipping.

I feel silly going on with this post and the "highlights" of my week after such heavy news, but I know my dad always loves to read what's up with us and the boys, so I'm continuing on.

{TWO}

I mentioned a little while ago that Wesley was having a tough transition to preschool. Well, things are great now, and the other day he actually cried while we were leaving because he was going to miss school! So, I will say that is a success.

{THREE}

It's homecoming week at school, and one day was Twin Day. Some of my friends and I all decided to go with our crazy LuLaRoe leggings and black tunics!

{FOUR}

I love that even though our school is getting so big, it still feels like a small town. They had a homecoming parade last night and the boy just loved it.

{FIVE}

Calvin was the sick kid in our family this week. He was down with a cold and fever, so I stayed home with him on Monday. It was nice to have some extra snuggles, but he was a little ornery, too!

So, that's my week. How was yours?

As I put together this outfit Sunday to wear to church, I was going to pull out my leopard pants, but I realized if I wanted to share an outfit you could recreate, leopard pants aren't something everyone has in their closet. Instead, I pulled out a solid colored pair of pants. After I did that, I kind of felt like my outfit was blah and really needed a little pattern, so I added my leopard flats and felt satisfied.

Going to Target to do my little $10 shopping splurge every month is always so fun. I shopped at the beginning of September, so I was still in back to school mode. School supplies were definitely calling my name, and I had a little itch for Halloween decor, too. Here's what I didn't buy:

I'm a sucker for a new cup or mug. This floral one was so pretty, but I figured I need to use the ones I have. The rainbow highlighters looked totally fun, and they had quite a few little art sets on clearance. The dollar spot also had out its Halloween decor! So, so tempting!

So, what did I end up with?
Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend! Aren't you? Here are some highlights from our week!

Friday night Russ and I had a date night. We went to the most delicious New York style pizza place called Taste of New York Pizza. So delicious I'm still drooling over it today! I had chicken bacon ranch pizza and Russ had lasagna pizza.

There's a quote from somewhere that defines boys as "noise with dirt on it." With three boys plus my husband in my house, that phrase can't be more true. Messes, grime, stickiness, and all are always present in our house. Sometimes the normal cleaners I have around the house don't cut it, and I need a little more. I've always been a fan of Goo Gone. I remember taking the little bottle to college to get tape residue off my dorm walls. I LOVE that it now comes in a spray gel. It takes its ability to reach those sticky, grimy situations to a whole new level.

Plaid just makes me think of cooler weather, doesn't it for you? Today Tif at Bright on a Budget and I are styling our plaid shirt dresses because they are perfect for fall and will transition right into winter! When Tif first purchased her plaid dress, I was so tempted to purchase it myself, but I wasn't sure of the sizing. Sometimes for me a boutique large can fit a little snug and that's the largest it came in. Then, I was browsing Poshmark and spotted this dress. It's a size smaller than I normally wear, but the seller's closet had other things that were my size. I asked some questions and it seemed like it would fit, so I took a risk and ordered it up!

Sometimes in our journey as parents, getting out for a date just isn't feasible. It could be that the baby is too young, the money isn't there for a sitter, or it's just too much to pass your kiddos off to someone else. Russ and I have had some very fun date night at home, and today I wanted to share some tips that have helped us be successful at this including Kidfresh Frozen Meals which are currently 40% off using the Cartwheel App at Target!

Plan ahead. You don't always have to know the exact night you're going to have your date night, but get things on hand so you can. Think of a meal you'd like to prepare together and purchase the ingredients for it. Have a Pinterest board with some fun ideas you'd like to try. Russ and I have done date nights at home with a full fledged meal we've wanted to make like home made meatballs, and we've also done more simple things like at home s'mores or just watching a movie. Even get a pizza delivery from that gourmet joint your kids won't eat! Just have a plan so that you won't skip out on the night because it seems like too much work.

Feed the kiddos early. Prepare a meal for your kids that takes little prep and you know they'll love. We recently tried out Kidfresh Frozen Meals, and they are perfect for a night like this. They are ready to eat in just four minutes and they come in varieties your kids will love! We tried out the Kidfresh Super Duper Chicken Nuggets and Kidfresh Mamma Mia Cheesy Pizza. There are many other varieties too, so you're bound to find many your kids will love.

Besides the kid-friendly varieties, Kidfresh Frozen Meals contain up to 1/2 cup of hidden veggies in every meal. They also contain no artificial flavors or ingredients, no synthetic colors or flavors and non-GMO ingredients. They can easily be paired with fruit to make a simple and quick meal.

Kidfresh Frozen Meals are very cost effective ranging in price from $2.99 to $3.99. The Kidfresh Mamma Mia Cheesy Pizza package contained two pizzas and the Kidfresh Super Duper Chicken Nuggets package contained enough nuggets for over two servings.

They can be found in the Kid Faves freezer section at Target. Right now, they are on Cartwheel at Target for 40% off through September 24th!

Make it feel special. Set the table with the a candle in the middle. Get dressed up. Or if that's too much, get out the fancy paper plates. Do something to make the time together memorable.

Expect interruptions. Kids just have a knack for when mom and dad want to have time together. Laugh off that request for one more drink or one more tattle on brother or sister. Getting frustrated will just ruin the mood for the night! Focus on the time with your spouse and just enjoy it.

How do you make in home date nights work at your house? Which variety of Kidfresh Frozen Meals do you think your child would enjoy?

Happy Friday!  Our week was a good one with some sickness recovery, some happy mail, and lots of time outside! Here are the highlights!

{ONE}

We had a lazy Labor Day weekend. Wes was sick for most of it, but we made the best of the days hanging around the house and being outside. If you want to see more pics of the boys, head to yesterday's post!

I'm joining in with some fabulous ladies to be a part of the Picture Perfect Project. Each month I'll be sharing a few photos I've taken with our Canon EOS Rebel T3i. (This month I used my phone.) I decided with this challenge to focus on documenting of each of our boys in their element. It might look messy, but I just want these photos to capture the every day life we have. I don't really plan to edit the photos in any way except for possibly cropping them a little.

Phew, I feel like I was JUST here doing the picture perfect project last week, but alas it's been a month! I took these photos on Labor Day when we were just hanging out in the yard playing!

Fashion rules... are you a rule follower or a rule breaker? I'm all about just trying things out and seeing if I can make them work. The "rule" no white after Labor Day is just one I just love to break, and my friends seem to feel the same way. The How I Style It Ladies are back at it this month with our White After Labor Day looks!

I love leggings, but I'm one on the leggings are not pants train. Unless I'm going to yoga or working out, my front and back must be covered. These denim leggings I am wearing courtesy of No Nonsense are fabulous. They are thick but still provide the stretchy comfort that leggings have to offer. I paired them with a fun fall colored tunic and my ever popular utility vest, and this outfit just gives off lots of fall vibes.

Earrings: A Pretty Pear
Sunglasses: c/o Lot Fancy
Necklace: Walmart (similar)
Tunic: LuLaRoe
Vest: Gap
Bangles: Blossom Bangles
Leggings: c/o No Nonsense
Bag: Gap (similar)
Flats: Tory Burch via Poshmark (similar)

I feel like this outfit is really polished off with some touches of gold and iridescence. The iridescent look seems to be pretty in right now, and it was fun to be able to add a few little touches with some items I already owned. The denim bag I'm carrying is OLD and trusty. I purchased it from Gap wayyyy back when (like I think before we had our oldest and he's 6!) Gap had a Groupon when Groupon was first a thing. The bag just always comes back into rotation because it's roomy and has a cute tassel!

So, what do you think about the white after Labor Day rule? Are you all for it? Against it?

Now hop over and check out the other ladies' looks!

It's hard to believe that August is over. This past weekend fall was in the air, and I have to admit I just love it!  Today I'm sharing some of August in numerical form along with my goals!

If you have a toddler, you know diaper changes can feel like a wrestling match sometimes. After going through this adventure with two kids and currently being in the trenches with kid number three, I feel like I can say I've been there, done that, and I have some tips to share including our recent love for some great Huggies Little Movers Plus from Costco!

Happy Saturday! I don't usually post on the weekends, but shorts weather isn't for a ton longer and everyone's minds are on fall, so I wanted to squeeze this one in!

It seems every time I post an outfit on Instagram with these shorts, the compliments come! So, today I wanted to round up a few ways I've worn them. The shorts are from Old Navy, but I got them last year, so they're no longer available. I really fear I'm going to wear them out because I love them so much!

Top: LuLaRoe
Earrings: Loren Hope via Rocksbox (use code BYBMGXOXO to get your first month free!)
Cuff: Loren Hope via Rocksbox
Bracelet: Old
Sandals: Target via Poshmark (use code JKAYY when you download the app for $10 off)

I love the pink in the shorts, so pulling it out and wearing a LuLaRoe Irma was a fun way to wear them. I wore this outfit on one of our teacher work days. The navy necklace tied it all together along with a few sparkly accessories!

Happy Friday! It's been a LONGGGG week, but I'm pumped for the weekend!

{ONE}

I'm just so excited for all the pumpkin spice things coming out. Honestly at Starbucks I prefer a PS Frappuccino instead of a latte, but all in all fall is inching closer, so three cheers for that!

{TWO}

Wesley has been sick since Tuesday afternoon, and it's so sad. I took him in and they think it's just a virus. Poor man has been running high fevers like mad and he has just been so tired... Today I get to stay home with him. I guess it's a nice way to start of the long weekend early!

{THREE}

I've been getting back into the swing of dressing for school but my feet are still getting used to it. I bought these Tory Burch flats off of Poshmark and they are WONDERFUL! I wore them from 7 am to 8 pm because we had a parent night and my feet were great! I need to hunt up some more like this.

{FOUR}

I got back to yoga this week. It'd been a few weeks and wow could I feel that! But I neeeeed to get it back into my routine again because mama needs some peace in her life!

{FIVE}

Jamberry's new fall catalog came out and I'm in LOVE. I am also excited because they came out with a MATTE top coat for their gel system!  Let's just say I ordered a few things yesterday!
