DIY Pom Pom Tassel Earrings

Because I can't get enough pom poms, I'm back this week with a simple and cute pom pom tassel earring tutorial! These can be made in all types of color combinations and they are pretty light weight, so they won't hurt your ears!

All you'll need is some scissors, embroidery thread, pom pom beads (I found mine on Amazon), earring hooks, as well as a small piece of cardboard that's about 1.5 to 2 inches wide, and tape (not pictured)

First, I wrapped the thread around the cardboard 30 times. I counted to make sure I was consistent between the two earrings.

Next, cut the excess thread off, then carefully take the loop of thread off the cardboard. Get another long piece of string and tie a knot on the top of the loop. Leave a good amount of excess string at the top for the pom pom and to attach it to the earring hook.

Next, take a another piece of thread and wrap it around the top of the tassel three times. Then, tie it in a knot and clip it off close to the knot.

Cut the bottom loop of thread to make the tassel and trim it to make it somewhat even.

Use tape to tape off the end of the thread (check out how it looks do to that here), then feed it through the pom pom bead. Tie a double knot to attach the tassel and pom pom to the earring hook.

When you make the second earring, line it up with the first when tying it off to make sure they are the same length.

If you want, you could add a couple pom poms to mix it up. Which do you like best?

This is a perfect companion to the pom pom necklace I made last week, don't you think?
