Last Thursday, I got to go to a little "Blogger Preview Event" at the new Container Store that opened this weekend in West Des Moines, Iowa! I had never stepped foot in a Container Store before, so I was pretty darn excited to check it out!



So, a little history on the Container Store. The first store opened in 1978 in Dallas, Texas. When the two owners started out, they wanted to create a whole new type of retail store that was focused on solutions for organization. They are what they call a "solutions-based retailer" meaning their employees are not about to sell you something just because. They will listen to your organizational issues and problem solve with you to find you the solution you really need. From what I gathered, they treat and train their employees very well and would rather have one stellar employee to three mediocre ones.




After we heard a little about the store, we viewed a gift wrapping demonstration, learned how to make a bow ourselves, and got a tour of the store.








The store is amazing! Such a little happy place with so many organization solutions and little things you never thought you needed! They have amazing closet systems and so. many. containers!



We went home from the blogger event with some fun little things to help our gift wrap and a gift card! They were so generous!



I had to go back this weekend, even amidst the opening weekend chaos, to shop! I just picked up a couple little things, but I know I'll be back often! Each Container Store partners with a local non-profit, and the West Des Moines store partnered with The Variety Club of Iowa. Ten percent of all the opening weekend sales went to the Variety Club! I also joined their POP Rewards program, so I got a free reusable shopping tote!
