One of our friends' little girls had her birthday party at Chow's Gymnastics.  We Iowans know its claim to fame of training both Shawn Johnson and Gabby Douglas for the Olympics!

 

I had to capture this picture of Henry working the balance beam.  Russ's mom is a former Iowa Balance Beam Champion, so I know he made GMOM proud!

Might not seem too exciting to you East Coasters, but we just got a Rita's here in the Des Moines area, so we had to go try it out.  Henry had an ice.  I had a custard sundae.  Dad had a Blendini. Wesley mooched off all of us.  It was a tasty treat to end the weekend!

This may not seem like a big deal, but we went out to eat Monday night at HuHot because our church was having a fundraising night.   Both boys did amazingly well.  Dinner was totally calm, and neither Russ nor I wanted to pull out our hair before we left.  It was amazing.  Henry ate.  Wesley ate.  Russ and I got to enjoy our meals.  If you have kids, you know how stressful going out to eat can be.  This day, it wasn't stressful, so we took a picture to document it.

My heart just about melted in a puddle when I found these guys sitting by each other Tuesday morning before school.  Wesley can usually be found in his room reading books, and has recently learned how to climb into the glider by himself.  Henry joined him and it was too sweet of a moment not to document!

Russ and I had a date night!  Yay!  It was great to just go out to Olive Garden by ourselves and fully enjoy the time and talk.  Russ scored a coupon for free dessert. Bonus!  Pumpkin Cheesecake. Yum, yum!
