The Lovely Lookbook Button

Today I'm linking up with Caitlin and Sarah for a new, fun monthly link up called The Lovely Lookbook.  The goal of the link up is to find looks that work for you. It's for women of all shapes and sizes to share a look and hopefully inspire others. This month's focus is on dresses. Today I'm sharing two different ways I've styled my little black dress. I feel both are a little unexpected, and I think that's even more fun!

This Gap dress is a size 10 (I usually wear a 10 or 12 and am 5'5") and it was my first order from Twice. I used the $10 referral credit and their $10 credit for downloading the app, so it ended up being $2.95 shipped! I really love this dress for many reason:
  • I can dress it up or dress it down.
  • I feel like a million bucks in it because of how it fits. It has a high waist and flares which is great for the mommy tummy. (Anybody else have that?!)
  • It has POCKETS.
  • It is comfortable.  I could wear it just about anywhere.
  • It has a nice, modest neckline and length.

I stuck with neutrals with my first look. I paired the dress with a fun but neutral statement necklace, some gold bangles, and my Toms booties.  I think the booties just add something a little different and dress it down a little. I could totally throw on a pair of heels and it would give the outfit a different spin.

Here's a close up of the statement necklace.  It's from NY & Co.

The second look adds some pops of color.  The headwrap is a savior for me on bad hair days because it keeps back the wispy new hair growth I have going on from my second baby.  The necklace is from one of my favorite shops, Our World Boutique. The shoes are thrifted BCBG; I think I spent $5 on them!

Both looks take the black dress up a level just by adding a statement necklace and a fun pair of shoes.

Tell me about your favorite dress!  I'd love to see how you style it!
