One big change that makes an impact on your bedroom is the comforter! That was the only thing I purchased for this room make over and it changes the room a ton! The second big thing that can change a room is just de-cluttering! Our headboard is a book case, but it gets messy quickly. I took most all of the books out and put them in a small storage tote and it just makes the area look so much more fresh.



Another great idea when making over a bedroom is to re-purpose things you already have. We had gray curtains in a downstairs spare bedroom and I thought they would be an easy swap, but once I installed them, I realized they were too short. So what did I do?

I took the two pillow shams that came with the comforter set and added them to the curtains as a ruffle for extra length. I cut the shams in half an pinned them on temporarily. If I end up liking this set up, I may sew them on permanently, but for now, its a no cost re-purpose that works!
