bybmg: My Easy Make Up Routine

My Easy Make Up Routine

I get ready from start to finish in about 30 minutes in the morning.  Most of that time is spent curling my hair.  The other time is spent getting dressed; I'm beginning to pick out all my outfits on the weekend, so I just have to pick one and put it on. The last few minutes are devoted to make up.  I don't have a complex routine, but I wanted to share with you what I do.

This is what I look like, bare-faced.  I probably could do without make up, but it just makes me feel better.

If you know me, you know I like to be thrifty.  The only thing in this routine that is a real splurge is my foundation.  I use Clinique's Even Better foundation.   The awesome thing about it is I always wait to buy it until it's Clinique Bonus time.  The foundation is just the minimum price ($27), that I can buy just it and get the bonus items.  In the bonus there is always a mascara, and usually an eye shadow.  So, though I spend the money on the foundation, I'm set on those other two products for the time being as well.

Here are all the products I use:

elf Eveybrow Kit (in medium) $3

I've been working a little on my eye brows. I know by their looks they may not look like anything spectacular, but I got this kit about six months ago.  Before that, I didn't use anything on them.

Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint (03 budding blossom) - free from my latest Clinique Bonus (retails for $17)

This isn't an every day item for me, just simply because I often forget and am not that much of a lip color person. It's fun and pretty neutral, so I use it many days.

Clinique Even Better Foundation (02 fair) - $27

I really like it because it has SPF and has good coverage. I also like that I can have the consultant match the right color to me unlike most drugstore brands where it's a guessing game.

Clinique Lash Double Mascara (black) - sample size free from my latest Clinique Bonus (full size retails for $16.50)

You're supposed to pitch mascara every 6ish months, and this sample always lasts that long.  I really don't buy mascara ever because I always seem to have a sample of something. I'm not too picky.

Almay Smart Shade Concealer (light 010) - $6.69 (though I think I used a coupon when I bought it)

I'm not sold on this concealer.  Suggestions accepted.  I use it for under my eyes, though some days I just let the bags under my eyes show.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer (shade 01) - $17

I don't actually have this on in this look, but it's another concealer I use if I have a blemish. I bought it one time when I was buying my foundation.  It's done it's job.  I'm not sure if I'd buy it again.  Again, concealer suggestions accepted!

Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher (clover) - sample size free from a previous Clinique Bonus (full size retails for $21)

I've gotten this blush twice over the years in Clinique Bonuses. I love it and wore my first one out.  I would seriously consider buying this if I don't get it in a future bonus.  I love the color.  It is just perfect for me.

Clinique All About Shadow Duo (beach plum) - sample size from a previous Clinique Bonus (full size retails for $20)

I'm a pretty neutral shadow gal.  The plum in this pallet doesn't get used much.  I have a variety of neutral shadows I rotate though.

I didn't mention eye liner in this post because I don't use it most days.  If I do it's usually a simple brown (I have an old Clinique one) or my purple Urban Decay from my last Ipsy bag.

Here's the full look!  It's simple and takes me about 5 minutes total to apply it all. As you can see, once you get passed the bonus items that I get with my foundation, I don't spend much on my make up.

Check out all of these items plus a couple more in my Result.ly Make Up Collection.
