Happy National S'mores Day! I've always been a s'mores lover! Russ and I even had s'mores for a date night a while back. Today I'm sharing a twist on the typical s'more with a fun peanut butter s'mores bar recipe. Enjoy!
I like to take baking short cuts sometimes, and for this recipe, that totally happened. I used peanut butter cookie mix, marshmallow cream and chocolate bars.
I prepared the mix as directed, then pressed half of it into the bottom of an 8 x 8 baking dish.
I had a little helper!
Next, I spread the whole jar of marshmallow cream on top of the cookie dough.
Then, I layered on chocolate bars. I ended up using four.
Last, I added on the other half of the cookie dough.
I baked it in the oven for about 30 minutes at 350*. This was my first time with these so I really kept adding time to the oven. It added up to 30 minutes though! I just wanted to make sure the cookie part was done and it had a little browning on the edges.
They were super gooey coming out of the oven, but once the cookie firmed up a little, they were more manageable to get out of the pan. They're super tasty and easy, so I hope you'll give them a try!
