Black and Blue with Fun Details Too!


Russ and I had a fun summer date night in downtown Des Moines a couple weeks ago, and this is what I wore. It was a beautiful summer night and I wanted to dress up a little because we were going to a nice restaurant!

I actually had a little bit of trouble deciding how to put this outfit together, but I think it worked out well. I really wanted to wear the skirt, and I almost wore a striped top with it, but the way it was blousing out just didn't work, so I went with straight black. I didn't want everything to be too dark, so I added some pops of summer with my necklace and clutch as well as my bracelets. The necklace is a fun neon yellow and the clutch has a little of that color in it, too!

It's fun that we found a wall that pretty much goes with my outfit! I love the murals in downtown Des Moines and I hope we can hit up a few more for outfit shoots this summer! It was a beautiful night to get out and about. We enjoyed dinner at Bubba, a southern comfort restaurant, and it was delicious!
