How I Style It: Touches of Tropical

This week, the How I Style It ladies (DellaNicole and Tif) are styling some tropical style. I don't own a ton of tropical prints, but I thought I would show you how a few touches can dress up a basic dress!

I may receive a commission (with no extra cost added to you) if you make a purchase from the links in this post. Thanks for supporting the time and love I put into this space. Please see my disclosure for more details.

Earrings: c/o A Pretty Pear
Necklace: Tasseled Soul
Dress: Old Navy via Poshmark (similar, shift dressromper version)
Bracelet: Charming Charlie
Clutch: Sew Sarah R
Sandals: Target (similar)

So, like I said before the photos, I wanted to show you how you can take a basic piece and dress it up with accessories to make it somewhat tropical. Buying bright printed clothes is so, so fun, but sometimes you just know if you buy that wild printed dress, you may just wear it once or twice and be over it. Accessories can be used more frequently than a clothing item and can be mixed and matched. Does this mean I'm not buying fun prints? Not at all, but I'm more likely to snag a necklace or a clutch than a whole piece of clothing just knowing I can bring them out frequently.

Case in point, I went to Target this week. I saw a cute pineapple print tee, but then I came upon a fun bright pink and purple necklace. I decided my money was better spent on the necklace because I would wear it more than the tee and it would be more versatile. So, when in doubt, always go for the cute accessories. They can go with so much and change the look of something basic into something more fun!

Now hop over and check out the other ladies' looks!
